The unread folder

Every estate starts as a folder no one has fully read. Here you empty that folder in one motion.

Lesson 1 · When bulk beats one at a time

By the end of this lesson you will know when to drop a whole folder rather than upload one contract at a time. The answer is volume. Past a dozen agreements, one drag reads them all while you work on something else.

Your estate, filed

What comes back is not a pile of files. It is your estate, filed into one folder for each vendor, with the spend and the renewals already counted across the top.

Every folder judged

Each folder judges its own paper. A live agreement, one due for renewal, an expired predecessor, a perpetual license that is still a real asset. The lifecycle is read, not guessed, so old paper sits in the past where it belongs.

Lesson 2 · The drop, and the reading ladder

This lesson covers what happens when you drop. Files upload in batches, a ticker narrates each one, and you can leave. The reading is a ladder: the text already in the file first, character recognition when a page is only a scan, then a read for meaning.

Lesson 3 · The read log

By the end of this lesson you will trust the read, because you can check it. The read log is every fact captured, and beside each one, the exact passage it was read from. A renewal date shows the sentence that carried it. A value shows the line it came off. Nothing is asserted without the quote behind it. That is what makes the read an audit trail, not a guess.

Lesson 4 · From archive to estate

This lesson connects the drop to the rest of the workspace. A read document is not filed and forgotten. It becomes a vendor with its own page, an agreement with a value and a term, and where a date is genuinely close, a renewal for the calendar. One drop, and your vendors, your spend, and your renewal window fill at once.

What you did not do

Back on the filed estate, notice what you did not do. You did not retype a vendor, a value, or a date. You read the folder, and corrected only what the machine flagged for a human.

Two questions

Two questions before you move on. One, does every captured fact carry its quote? Two, how does a read document turn into a renewal? If either is fuzzy, watch it again.

Your turn

Now you. Drop a folder of ten agreements and read the log through. It takes ten minutes. Then Course 10, Migration Studio.
